Whether you are throwing a graduation party for college or high school students, party favors add a nice touch. Many stores offer a wide range of party favors to suit almost any occasion, but homemade party favors can be truly unique. Not to mention that they cost a lot less. For example, candy bars can be turned into something truly original by adding creative candy wrapper. All you need are a couple inexpensive supplies.

Instructions

    • 1

Select stationary printer paper. Stationary printer paper with balloons, graduation caps or even the year would make a great choice. You'll want to choose a design that is small and doesn't distract from the rest of the candy wrapper design.

    • 2

Open a word processing program and center the cursor on the page. If you are using small candy bars, you will be able to center two wrappers per page. If you're using larger candy bars, center the message both vertically and horizontally on the page.

    • 3

Type a message including the name of the school and graduation date. Choose a font that suits the mood of the party. If you are throwing an elegant party, choose a curvy font. If it is going to be a laid back party, choose a fun font.

    • 4

Add clip art that suits the occasion. If you have access to clip art of the school mascot that would be perfect for the candy bar wrappers. Otherwise, choose a graduation cap or diploma. If you are working with small candy bars, place the image to the side of the message. For large candy bars, the clip art can be placed under the message.

    • 5

Print the wrappers and use a glue stick to seal the wrappers. For small candy bars, you will need to cut the pages to create two wrappers. Depending on the size of the candy bars you use, you may also need to cut the edges of the wrappers so that they fit perfectly. Once you have the right size, place glue on one edge of the wrappers and fold the wrappers around the bars and seal to the edges.

Tips & Warnings

  • Print a test page to determine how the wrappers will fit around the bars and if you like the design.

  • If printing a large amount of wrappers, make sure to check your ink cartridge levels before starting.
