How to Play One-Pocket Billiards
One-pocket billiards is a tactical form of pool that combines the basics of billiards with a defensive and strategic gameplay. Allowing for only one hole to sink your balls, one-pocket forces a player to focus on his opponent's shots as much as his own.

1
Select a pocket before the game begins. This pocket is the pocket that you must hit your balls into during the game. Your opponent must select one different pocket.
-
2
Rack the balls and break. It is best to break conservatively, as the chances of finding a ball in your pocket are only 1 in 6. The colors and order of the ball do not matter, including the 8 ball.

3
Call which ball you are going to make into your pocket and shoot.
-
4
Make as many shots as possible, alternating turns like regular pool play. Your turn lasts as long as you continue making balls into your hole, using the cue ball.
-
5
Play until one player has 8 balls in his pocket. This player is the winner. Balls made in pockets that are not claimed by either player are replaced between turns. Balls that fall into your opponent's hole count towards his total.
