Instructions

    • 1

Start at one end of your house and string the lights following the line of your gutter. You can attach the lights to the house with a staple gun or with a hammer and nails if you don't own a staple gun. String the lights along the gutter on each level of your roof including the porch roof.

    • 2

String the lights around the frame of each window on the front of your house. If you use lights with removable bulbs, you can remove the bulbs from the strand going in between the windows so they aren't visible from the street.

    • 3

Hang lights around the frame of your front door and the garage door if you have one. All of your lights should create clean straight lines outlining the front of your house.

    • 4

Staple one string of lights just under the lip of each step leading up your porch if you have one. This will not only help decorate your porch, but it will also light the walkway to your front door.

    • 5

Place the colored light nets over your bushes in front of the house. This is an easy way to decorate the landscaping with lights and your bushes will match your house.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have someone help you by holding the strand as you attach it to the house. This will prevent the strand from getting tangled while you are trying to hang it. When buying lights, choose either all blinking lights or all non-blinking lights. It will look more uniform that way.

  • Decorating the front of your house with any kind of lights requires the use of a ladder. Be extremely careful when climbing a ladder and always do it when someone else is home to help if you fall.
