Adding wedding ring decorations to your wedding invitations is a subtle touch that will add personal flare. Wedding ring decorations are inexpensive and can be purchased at almost any craft store. Adding them to the front of a layered vellum invitation looks simple and elegant all at the same time. Adding the wedding ring decorations this way will also allow the invitation to fit in a standard size invitation envelope.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vellum
  • Coordinating card stock
  • Straight cutter
  • Ribbon scissors
  • Wedding ring decorations
  • Glue
  • Hole punch
  1. Step 1

Type what you want the invitations to say on your computer. Go to "Print Preview" and change the page set-up from portrait to landscape; this should move everything you typed to one side of the paper. Next, copy and paste what you typed onto the second side of the paper so that you have two invitations on each sheet. Print the invitations on vellum.

  2. Step 2

Cut the card stock and the vellum into 5-by-7 inch rectangles. Use a straight cutter to cut the paper; this will ensure the lines are perfectly straight and clean. Cut the vellum one sheet at a time to get the cleanest cut as vellum can crinkle easily.

  3. Step 3

Punch two small holes into the top of the card stock and the vellum. Place one sheet of vellum on each sheet of card stock and line up the holes.

  4. Step 4

String a piece of ribbon through the two holes so that you can tie a bow on the front of the invitation.

  5. Step 5

String two wedding ring decorations onto the ribbon before you tie the bow. You can get wedding ring decorations in either silver or gold, depending on personal preference. Tie a shoelace style bow on the front of the invitation. Once you tie the bow, the wedding rings will be under the bow up against the invitation.

  6. Step 6

Add a spot of glue to the knot of each bow to keep it from coming undone. You can use white Elmer's glue, which will dry clear, or you can use hot glue if you need to get it done quickly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cut the ribbon a little longer than you think you'll need to make sure you have plenty of room to tie the ribbons over the rings. You can always go back and trim the ribbon when you are done.
  • These invitations will take a lot of time to make, so start well in advance of when you need them done.
