Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PC and wait as it boots up and opens Windows.

    • 2

Locate the MP3 song files that you want to have on your CD and write a note to yourself where they are on your computer.

    • 3

Double click on the RecordNow icon on your desktop to open the software. If you have not installed the icon to your desktop, click on the "All Programs" button on your menu bar, then select "Sonic", and then "RecordNow" to open the program.

      Start Making Your Audio CD

Click the "Make an Audio CD" button on the first menu to tell the program that you want to make an MP3 CD for your home or car.

    • 5

A small window will appear asking you to insert a blank recordable CD. Insert your blank CD-RW with the shiny side facing up and press the button on the face of the drive to close it. If your blank CD is good, you will see a new screen in which you can begin to select the songs you want to record to your MP3 CD.

    • 6

The next window will have two main parts to it. In the window on the right will be a list that looks very similar to the normal Windows File Explorer. This section lists the files on your computer. Click to locate where you have your MP3 files and click to select the first file that you want. Go down to the bottom section of the Sonic RecordNow window and click on "Add File". Your file name will now appear in the list of "Audio Files" in the center of your window. Repeat this until you have selected all the files you wish to put on your CD. The amount of MP3 songs you can put on an audio CD will depend on the original storage size of the CD(700mb to 800mb).

    • 7

When you are done selecting your songs, you can change the order of your songs by clicking on the green arrows to the right of the file name that point up or down. By clicking on the "up" arrow, you will move the song up in your play list, meaning it will be closer to playing first on the CD.

    • 8

With all your songs in the order you want, click on the large, circular red button at the bottom right of the window. Sonic RecordNow will burn the files you selected to your CD. When the CD is complete, the door to your CD-RW drive will open and you will be able to remove it.

    • 9

If a new window appears asking if you would like to make another CD, select yes or no. If "yes", insert a new CD and, if you want to burn an identical disc using the same songs, just hit the "burn" button again. If you want to make a new CD with new songs, repeat these steps starting with step 6. If you do not want to make another MP3 CD at this time, click on "no" and save your play list to a directory on your computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make a separate file directory for your MP3 song files on your PC and get in the habit of saving them to that location.

  • Make sure that the songs you are transferring to your CD are licensed for public performance if you are making this CD for any kind of public performance (such as performing as a DJ at a party).
