The Laserlyte bore sighting kit allows a firearm to be quickly and easily bore sighted at 25 yards. After using the Laserlyte, only a few small corrections will be needed to achieve a 100-yard zero. The Laserlyte kit comes with adapters that will work on pistols and rifles, from .22 to .50 caliber. The kit also includes adapters that will work for 12- to 20-gauge shotguns. Bore sighting at 25 yards will save ammunition and time, since the rifle will now be on target at 100 yards.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Laserlyte kit
  • Rifle targets
  • Small slotted screwdriver
  1. Step 1

Ensure that the firearm is unloaded. Remove magazine, open bolt and visibly confirm that the firearm's chamber is empty. Support the firearm in a sturdy rest, as if you were shooting at a gun range.

  2. Step 2

Measure 25 yards from the firearm and hang the supplied product card target on a target frame. Locate the correct sized adapter for the caliber of your firearm. Using the correctly sized screw, install the adapter onto the end of the laser. Turn the screw until the adapter fits tightly inside the barrel. Slide the laser with the adapter into the muzzle end of the barrel.

  3. Step 3

Remove the protective caps from the scope's windage and elevation turrets. Turn the laser on by twisting the "on/off" switch. Adjust the position of the rifle until the laser is impacting the product card target dead center in the bull's-eye.

  4. Step 4

While being careful not to disturb the position of the rifle, look through the scope and see where the crosshairs line up in relation to the laser dot on the target. Using a small screwdriver or coin, adjust the scope's crosshairs till they are centered on the laser dot.

  5. Step 5

Remove the Laserlyte bore sighter from the barrel. Place a target at 100 yards and shoot a three shot group. Make any small changes needed until the group is centered on the bull's-eye. The rifle is now sighted in.
