How to Make Wine Cork Raised Wreaths
You can recycle wine corks to make a unique and decorative wreath. A wine cork wreath requires hundreds of corks, so if you do not have them saved up, consider asking someone at a local bar or restaurant to put them aside for you. Craft stores sell plain, packaged corks, but it would be quite expensive to buy enough to cover a wreath, and new corks do not have the unique characteristics of used corks from wine bottles. The wreath has two layers, so the not-so-pretty corks can be used as the base, and the more decorative corks can adorn the top layer.
Things You'll Need

1
Cover your work surface to protect it from hot glue drips that might occur when you are applying the base layer of corks.
-
2
Tie a ribbon or piece of string around what will be the top of your wreath. Use a piece of string and tie it close to the wreath if you do not want it to show. Use a ribbon and create a loose loop if you want the ribbon to show at the top of the wreath when it is hanging.

3
Apply hot glue along the side of a cork and press it flat onto the wreath. Repeat around the front and inner and outer sides of the wreath, laying the corks flat, but placing them in random directions. Cover as much of the surface as possible.

4
Glue a second layer of corks over the base layer. Apply these corks also in a random pattern, but overlap the corks so that they stick out at various angles. This will give your wreath a lot of dimension and texture.

5
Glue an arrangement of grape leaves to the bottom of your wreath. Glue a bunch of grapes over the grape leaves.

If you want to hang your wreath in a window, cover the entire wreath with corks. Allow about 200 corks for a 12-inch wreath.
