Read the information printed on the bottle. Instructions as well as warnings are present on the product of your choice. All rust removal products are different.
Some may be toxic or harmful while others are completely safe to use. The Maas Polishing Cream, Green Bean Rusterizer Organic Rust Remover and Ez-On / Ez-Off Hull and Bottom Cleaner are all non-toxic. -

Pour a capful of the product on your cloth. If you are using a spray, apply onto the rusted area. For creams, use a quarter-sized amount of the product on your cloth.

Rub the rust-effected area. Most rust cleaners require minimal scrubbing. Usually, you just wipe them on and then wipe them off. Use the rust removal products all over the bed to get rid of the rust as well as polish the metal.

Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 as necessary. Some products may work better than others for your particular metal bed.
