How to Replace the Hard Drive in a Dell Inspiron 4100
The Dell Inspiron 4100 is a laptop computer well-suited to home or small-business use. Tips & Warnings
The Dell Inspiron 4100 uses a special hard drive that comes with a hard drive door attached; you may purchase this hard drive directly from the manufacturer's website (see Resources below). Prior to installation, touch a nearby metal surface to minimize the risk of a static discharge. Store your old hard drive in the same anti-static packaging that your new hard drive came in.
Do not shake, strike or drop your hard drive; the internal components are very delicate.
