Instructions

    • 1

Find a scissor image online. Save it and resize it. Print out two pairs of scissors.

    • 2

Cut out one full blade and handle on one printed pair and the opposite blade from the other.

    • 3

Trace your cutouts onto a piece of hard cardboard or photo mounting board.

    • 4

Cut out each side with an X-Acto knife.

    • 5

Hold a tail of yarn on top of one scissor side.

    • 6

Wrap yarn around the blade up to the handle.

    • 7

Cut the yarn from the skein leaving a tail long enough to cover the top of the scissor and knot it at the end. Wrap the severed yarn around the handle by sticking it through the hole and bringing it around until you've covered the entire piece.

    • 8

Secure the yarn. Make a knot by sticking a piece through the handle and then through the loop of yarn. Do this twice. Make a regular knot in the yarn as close as you can to the scissor and cut the remaining yarn away.

    • 9

Wrap the other half of the scissor.

    • 10

Put the two pieces together with a paper fastener. Carefully puncture one scissor part with your X-Acto knife and stick the paper fastener through.

    • 11

Puncture the other scissor in the appropriate spot. Stick the fastener through that hole and close it.

    • 12

Slip a chain through one of the scissor's handles and it's ready to wear!
