Make Waffles Without an Iron

Waffles have long been enjoyed as a breakfast staple. According to the foodtimeline.org, the first waffles date back to the 1300s. While they typically carried the standard waffle form, sometimes they were emblazoned with a coat of arms or other interesting patterns. Waffles were cooked over an open flame inside two cast iron plates, which were sealed together with long handles.
