Cleaning the rubber seal around the shower door is a tedious job no one likes to do. Soap scum, mold and mildew, and hard water stains all give us the creeps every we open the door. Some of these problems are hard to remove and will take more than one cleaner to clean them. There are a ton of bathroom cleaners on the market today, so you can use one or two of these or a homemade cleaner from ingredients you have around the house.
Step 1
Mix 1 cup of bleach with 1 gallon of hot water in a bucket or use a commercial cleaner. Put rubber gloves on before you begin cleaning with these type of cleaners.

Step 2
Dip the toothbrush in the bucket and scrub the seal. Move the seal around to make sure you get around all the edges; just be careful not to pull it out of its holder or break it.
Step 3
Rinse with the shower handle or use a sponge to get all of the grime and bleach off the seal.
Step 4
If the seal is not totally clean, make a paste of baking soda and water. It should be the consistency of toothpaste. Dip the toothbrush in the paste and scrub the seal again. Rinse.
Step 5
Mix a cup of white vinegar with a cup of water and rinse off the seal by dipping a sponge in the vinegar solution and wiping the seal. This will get off all the leftover residue and remove any odor from the seal.
