How to Make Dry Body Oil
Dry body oils are great because you can apply them any time of the day to nourish skin and give yourself a delightful scented boost. Dry body oils are not actually dry, but they absorb so quickly that they appear to be so. You can make your own dry body oil spray or roll-on scent easily using a silicone oil called cyclomethicone and essential oils, both of which you can get at craft stores. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Cyclomethicone
- Essential oil in the fragrance of your choice
- Glass roll-on bottle or oil spray bottle
- Eye dropper

1
Measure the cyclomethicone into the container that you wish to hold your dry body oil. This must be measured first for proper mixing. You will be using a ratio of one part fragrance to five parts cyclomethicone; so if you are planning to add five drops of fragrance, then you will need to add 25 drops of cyclomethicone to the bottle first.

2
Rinse out the eye dropper in clear water. Some people prefer to use two droppers so that they do not have to wait for the dropper to dry after rinsing.

3
Add the essential oil fragrance. If you added 25 drops of cyclomethicone, then you will need five drops of fragrance. If you are combining fragrances, then you may add as many as seven drops between the different fragrances.
-
4
Mix the cyclomethicone and the essential oils. You can do this by placing the lid firmly on the container and shaking them well. Unlike perfumes, dry body oil does not need to age but can be used immediately.
