How to Hit a Draw
A skilled golfer can make the golf ball do many things. Depending on the situation, an accomplished golfer can spin or curve the golf ball to avoid hazards and get the ball close to the hole. However, the most powerful shot in golf is the draw shot. It has forward spin, which makes the ball go farther than any other golf shot. Every golfer should be able to utilize a draw when needed. Mastering this shot will greatly add distance to your drives and help your game.

1
Set up with a normal grip and alignment. Don't alter your grip and stance to hit a draw. Remain relaxed.
-
2
Adjust your feet to the right of your intended target. How much you adjust your feet depends on your natural ball path and where you want the ball to draw to. Experiment on the driving range.
-
-
3
Aim your club face directly at the target while using your normal grip. Your swing path should be inside out with the club square again at impact.
-
4
Take your normal swing. Do not manipulate your arms or wrist to hit a draw. Any exaggerated motion to hit a draw will likely result in poor contact or a hook.
-
5
Practice different types of draw shots. Use your time at the range to see how much you can draw the ball. Imagine you are playing to keep it interesting. You will feel more confident next time you need to hit a draw shot on the course.
