Consult a doctor concerning any mole you wish to have removed, even those under the armpit. It is really best to have a mole checked by a health professional before you have it removed, as it could be a warning sign of a serious health condition.

Let the doctor or nurse clean the area on and around the mole. Before the removal takes place, your doctor or nurse will clean the area with some type of sanitizing substance, like alcohol or betadine, which is an infection fighter.

After the area has been cleaned, it will be numbed prior to the procedure.

Relax as the mole is shaved off and/or cauterized. Depending on the doctor, a mole will be removed by being essentially shaved off or cut out and then cauterized or stitched.

Clean the area at least once a day with warm water.

Apply an antibiotic lotion or cream on the area where the mole was removed. You will do this at home for a set amount of time established by your doctor.

Cover the wound with a sterile bandage and let heal.
