How to Make a Craft Money Tree
Money trees are a great additive to parties. Parties such as graduations, weddings, birthdays, or retirements are just some of the occasions where a money tree would be ideal. Some of the craft materials used to make a money tree can be found outside your home; others need to be purchased.

1
Place some small rocks in the bottom of a pot. The rocks will act as a counter weight. You'll be glad you did this later when you discover that the tree is well balanced and does not fall over. You will also need to consider the size of the branches, which will be discussed later. Leave room in the pot for the Styrofoam.

2
Place a green Styrofoam square in the pot. Make sure that you have purchased a Styrofoam that fits snugly into the pot. Also, it is better that the foam does not stick out but is flush with the pot.

Place branches in the Styrofoam. These branches can be store bought or found in your yard. However, make sure that the branches are thin enough to poke through the Styrofoam. Also, make sure that the branches are between 17 and 24 inches long. If the branches are too tall, it will make your craft money tree fall over.

Cover the foam with green tissue paper. To do this, tuck it in on all sides of the foam within the pot. In addition, you should pin or glue the tissue paper to the foam to keep it from lifting up. This will completely conceal the green foam. You can have some of the ends of the tissue paper lifting up towards the "trunk" of the craft money tree.

Fold a dollar bill in half the long way. Clip the dollar to the end of one of the branches using a clothes pin. It would be better if you could either find green clothes pins in the store or paint the ones you have green; however, it is not necessary. Repeat this process with the remaining dollars and clothes pins until all branches are filled with dollars or until you run out of money. Place the tree in a location at the party that is visible to all.

Tips & Warnings
The branches do not need to have leaves because the money becomes the leaves; however, branches with leaves are more decorative.
