Step 1
Sweep or Swiffer your tiled floor for daily maintenance. Wipe up any spills immediately. Damp mop with clean water as needed.
-
Step 2
Vacuum the floor to remove any debris, lint and hair from the tile surface. Dissolve 1 cup of oxygen bleach in 2 gallons of hot water. Wet mop with the solution and wait for your floor to dry completely.
-
Step 3
Try a spot treatment if the stain still remains. Fold a small piece of sandpaper and gently rub it along the grout line. You can also rub the stain gently with a clean pencil eraser.
-
Step 4
Make a thick paste of baking soda and tap water, if the stain still isn't gone. Gently scrub the grout with the baking soda paste and the toothbrush or grout brush. Use a circular motion to remove more debris. Wipe the area with clean water and dry with a soft rag.
-
Step 5
Try a multi-purpose household cleaner if the grout still looks dirty. Spray or pour the cleaner onto the grout and scrub with the toothbrush. Rinse well with clean water and dry with a rag.
-
Step 6
Pour or squirt commercial grout cleaner onto the grout as another cleaning option. Let it sit for 5 minutes and gently scrub with the toothbrush. Rinse well with clean water and pat dry.
