Dark acne spots are caused by blemishes that were either picked or had difficultly healing. They can hurt confidence and be a constant reminder of past acne struggles. If you're considering having these spots or scars removed by strong topical medications or by a dermatologist, try these natural solutions for skin repair first.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Flaxseed oil supplement
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 bag of chamomile tea
  • Pure vitamin E oil
  1. Step 1

Take a flaxseed oil supplement. Flaxseed oil is rich in vitamin E and boosts blood flow and circulation to support healthy skin cell growth.

  2. Step 2

Brew a strong cup of chamomile tea (1 bag to 1/2 cup of hot water). Allow it to cool and add the juice of 1 lemon. Put the solution in a clean container.

  3. Step 3

Dab the chamomile and lemon juice solution on the dark acne spots with a cotton ball twice a day. Chamomile and lemon are natural bleaching agents and will lighten the dark acne spots. Refrigerate the solution between applications. Discard and make a new batch if you have some left after 3 weeks.

  4. Step 4

Use a spot treatment of pure vitamin E oil following the chamomile and lemon juice solution. Vitamin E encourages cell regeneration. This is best to put on every night since it is a bit oily and your skin is more absorbent at night. You can buy a bottle of vitamin E oil in any pharmacy section of a grocery or drug store.

  5. Step 5

When applying the vitamin E oil, massage each dark acne spot for about 1 minute. This assists in your body's absorption of the vitamin E oil and stimulates blood flow and circulation to encourage new skin cell growth under the scars.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use the chamomile and lemon juice solution to lighten freckles and age spots. Eat a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables, especially those dark in color, are loaded with antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, E and beta carotene. Antioxidants support new cell growth and will aid in building new skin to replace dark acne spots.
  • Avoid a diet high in refined foods. A junk diet slows new skin cell growth.
