How to Make a Card Box

A deck of cards is a nice add in for a gift box, soldier's care package, party favor or a business promotion. If your children have card games, there is a good chance that the boxes are torn or the closure is missing. You can make a card box that protects the card game and you can even make card boxes in specific colors to represent a club, holiday, birthday or business color. Decorate the card box with personalization or business logo.

Instructions

    • 1

Carefully take the original card box apart and spread out on the paper for the project. Trace around the box.

    • 2

Mark all slits in the box with a solid line to show the line must be cut.

    • 3

Fold back all of the folded portions and mark them with dotted lines on the paper.

    • 4

Remove the box and double check that you have all fold and cutting lines marked. If you want a pattern for more box projects photo copy or scan the paper now.

    • 5

Place a card on the box project to make sure it is the correct size. Rubber stamp the exterior of the box for decoration now if desired.

    • 6

Score (make indentation) each fold mark on the paper. Use a stylus, paper cutter, ruler or straight edge of a pencil to score and fold the flaps evenly.

    • 7

Fold the tiny flaps in on the bottom of the box.

    • 8

Fold the inner flap in. Glue the inside of the top flap and the side panel. Press down to adhere.

    • 9

Fold the small flaps down on the top of the box.

    • 10

Place a deck of cards into the box. Fold the top cover into the box top, then seal with a sticker. Decorate as desired.
