How to Unlock a Blackberry 7520

A BlackBerry 7520 cell phone has several features, from just placing a call to organizing tasks and checking e-mail. Unfortunately, the more features a device has, the more difficult it is to use. It can be very frustrating if you have accidentally locked your BlackBerry 7520 and don't know how to unlock it. Both the entire device or just the keyboard can be locked on BlackBerry phones.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Unlock the device. If the whole phone is locked, you will see a "Lock" screen. Click the trackball and then click the "Unlock" button. Type in your password and press Enter.

  2. Step 2

Unlock the keyboard. To do so, press the asterisk * button and then the "Send" button.

  3. Step 3

Lock your device by selecting "Lock" from the home screen or lock your keyboard by selecting "Keyboard Lock" from the home screen.

Tips & Warnings
  • Retreive a forgotten password by calling customer support of your BlackBerry Enterprise System (BES) or BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). If you do not use either service, the only way to regain complete access to your phone is to enter an incorrect password 10 times. This will wipe all personal data (such as contacts and calendar information) from the phone. You can still make outgoing emergency phone calls while the device is locked. To do so, press Enter, and select "Emergency Call" and then select "Yes."
  • If you are unsure of your BlackBerry's history, be wary of using it. Your BlackBerry may be tracked if it was reported stolen.
