Place the two washcloths together and match the edges. Pin two adjacent sides together. Sew the pinned edges using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Be sure to backstitch the ends to secure the seams. Open the seams and press. Top stitch each pressed seam on the washcloths to give them a smooth finish. This is the hood for your hooded towel. Turn the hood right side out with the seam edges on the inside.
If using yardage of terrycloth, cut two squares the same size as a washcloth plus a 1/2 inch on all four sides. Fold each side over a 1/4 inch and press. Fold over a 1/4 inch again, press and pin. Top stitch all four sides to finish the edges like a washcloth. Sew the hood together as instructed.

Open the hood and match the sewn seams together. One side seam is the top of the hood and the other is the back seam. Flatten the hood and place on your work surface. Match the back seam of the hood to the pinned center of the bath towel with the right side down and pin. Pin the entire back edge of the hood to the bath towel edge. Sew a 1/2-inch seam allowance along the pinned edge. Press the seams open. Top stitch each pressed seam to give them a smooth finish.
If using terrycloth yardage, cut a piece the same size as a bath towel, plus a 1/2 inch on all four sides. Fold each side over a 1/4 inch and press. Fold over another 1/4 inch, press and pin. Top stitch all four sides to finish the edges like a bath towel.
