Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a glass cutting kit. There are two kinds: steel cutters and diamond cutters, which are significantly more expensive.

    • 2

Lay the piece of glass you wish to cut on a drawing board and place the T-square exactly where you wish to cut the glass. This will be the line along which you will cut.

    • 3

Dip the cutter in kerosene, which improves its efficiency, and hold it as you would a pencil, firmly. Place it along the T-square and begin cutting the line.

    • 4

Once the line is cut, pull firmly on the piece of glass you wish to remove. The glass will break cleanly.

    • 5

The piece will have rough edges, so use a whetstone to smooth those out.

Tips & Warnings

  • Diamond cutters don't really need the kerosene. Always hold the cutters at an angle.

  • Be careful to not cut yourself.
