How to Cut Glass Safely
Glass cutting is a relatively simple task if you have the correct tools. It is important to do everything with care and handle the glass and glass cutting tools safely, as glass shards can create nasty cuts.
Instructions

1
Purchase a glass cutting kit. There are two kinds: steel cutters and diamond cutters, which are significantly more expensive.
-
2
Lay the piece of glass you wish to cut on a drawing board and place the T-square exactly where you wish to cut the glass. This will be the line along which you will cut.
-
-
3
Dip the cutter in kerosene, which improves its efficiency, and hold it as you would a pencil, firmly. Place it along the T-square and begin cutting the line.
-
4
Once the line is cut, pull firmly on the piece of glass you wish to remove. The glass will break cleanly.
-
5
The piece will have rough edges, so use a whetstone to smooth those out.

Tips & Warnings
Diamond cutters don't really need the kerosene. Always hold the cutters at an angle.
Be careful to not cut yourself.
