How to Make Hard Blueberry Candy
Hard candy can be made at home with basic ingredients including sugar, corn, syrup and water. To make blueberry-flavored candy, blueberry flavoring must be purchased from a confectionery or specialty grocery store.
In the hard candy recipe that follows, the blueberry flavoring can be substituted for other flavorings including strawberry, cherry or orange.

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup corn syrup (light)
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp. blueberry flavoring oil
- Candy Thermometer
- Stove
- Saucepan
- Parchment Paper
- Cookie Sheet
- Knife

Combine sugar, water and corn syrup in saucepan.

Stir and heat over medium heat. Stir until sugar has dissolved.

Bring mixture to a boil. Put candy thermometer in mixture.

Remove saucepan from heat when mixture reaches 300-degrees Fahrenheit.

Stir in blueberry flavoring. Let stand for 30 seconds.

Pour candy mixture onto parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Cool for 1 hour at room temperature. Break pieces of candy with knife.

Tips & Warnings
Remove candy from heat immediately when temperature reaches 300-degrees Fahrenheit as candy/sugar burns easily.
Candy mixture will be hot. Do not pour onto cookie sheet when kids or pets are around.
