How to Make Skin Care Products

Things You'll Need
- Banana
- 1/2 Cucumber
- 2 teaspoons brewed tea
- Milk (2 percent or whole)
- Honey
- 1/2 Cup Strawberries
- Steel-Cut Oatmeal
- 1/2 Cup Plain Yogurt

Determine what type of skin you have. For example, ifthat you're constantly applying moisturizer to keep your skin from flaking, you should make your own skin care products for dry skin. If your face is shiny or you have acne, you may want to make skin care products for oily skin. If your skin is somewhere in between, you will have the most choices for homemade skin care products.

If your skin is on the oily side, make your own skin care products by combining 1/2 cup of sliced bananas, 1/2 cup of strawberries and two tablespoons of steel-cut oatmeal. Blend the ingredients in a blender or food processor or mash with a fork. Apply a thin layer of the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave in place for 1/2 hour and rinse with warm water. Store the remaining skin care product in a plastic container and keep it refrigerated for up to four days.

For a skin care product that cools eyelids and helps to reduce puffiness around the eyes, chop half of a cucumber up into chunks and place it in a food processor. Add two teaspoons of your favorite type of brewed tea, such as chamomile or green tea. Blend. Place the mixture over your closed eyelids and relax for up to a half hour. Avoid getting the mixture into the eyes.

If your skin is dry, make your own skin care moisturizing mask by combining 1/2 cup plain yogurt with two tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of milk. Allow the mixture to rest on your skin for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Store any unused skin care product in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
