  • Handrail pole
  • Handrail brackets
  • Handrail screws
  • Tape measure

      Measure the length along the wall from the bottom stair step to the top stair step. Use this measurement to purchase the proper length of handrail at your local hardware or home store.

      Screw the brackets that come with the handrail into the pre-drilled holes on the base of the handrail rod.

      Measure up 3 feet from each step and make a mark with the pencil.

    • 4

      Center the wall bracket attachments over the 3-foot marks (have a friends hold the ends in place).

      Screw the brackets to the wall.
