How to Get Stains Out of Silk Clothes
Your silk clothes may be the most expensive clothing items that you own. For this reason, it can be extremely upsetting and aggravating to find a stain on a silk garment. Your first instinct may be to take a stained silk clothing piece to your local dry cleaner. You may actually be able to avoid this by using a few items you have at home. Start by filling your sink with cool water. You don't want the water to be too cold as your hands will be in the water.

Add roughly 1/2 to 1 cup of a mild soap to the water. How much soap you use will be dependent on the size of your sink.

Put 2 tbsp. of white vinegar into the water.

Place the silk clothing item into the sink and allow the garment to soak for only a couple of minutes (no longer than five minutes).

Remove the silk item from the solution and rub the stain using your hands. You can also use a soft sponge to wipe the silk garment. If you use a sponge, you should first get it wet with cold water. Then, gently blot out the stain with the sponge.

Hang the silk piece to dry.

Check the label of the soap bottle to make sure that it is suitable for sensitive garments, such as silk.
Never use warm water when trying to get stains out of silk clothes. Doing so can actually make the stain worse. If the stain doesn't come out, it's best to take your silk clothing item to a professional cleaner.
