Instructions

    • 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Peel the onion and cut it up into small pieces, setting it aside until later.

    • 2

Fry eight slices of bacon in a large skillet until just barely done. Take the bacon out of the skillet, put it on a plate and set it aside until it has cooled. Tear the bacon into small pieces.

    • 3

Crack the egg into a large bowl. Use a fork or a whisk to beat the egg until frothy.

    • 4

Add the ground beef to the large bowl with the egg. Add the cut up onions, the bacon, salt and pepper. Also add steak sauce and mix everything together with your clean hands. Don't overmix the meat mixture or it can become dry while cooking.

    • 5

Form the meat into two lumps. Pat each of the lumps into the shape and size you want them. Take your cheese and cover one of the lumps with it. Set the other lump on top of the cheese covered one. With your hands, pinch the sides and ends together so the cheese will stay locked in. Put the meatloaf into a shallow baking pan.

    • 6

Spread the ketchup over the top of the meatloaf. Loosely cover the meatloaf with a sheet of aluminum foil. Put it in the oven to cook for about 50 minutes or until the juices run clear. You can check this by sticking a fork in the top of the meatloaf. Take out the pan and let the meatloaf sit for five minutes, and then enjoy.
