Many teenage girls think they're too mature for things like childish sleepovers, but there's lots of great ways to make a sleepover fun, but sophisticated. It's also the perfect way for a teenager to celebrate their birthday with their closest friends, especially in the awkward phases where they want to be treated more like an adult. 1. Step 1

The first thing to do is send out the invitations, there are lots of great sites online where you can print great invitations for free. You could also pay to have some done at a local print shop, or even through online sites.

  2. Step 2

Plan the basic entertainment. Movies are always a good idea, you could get some foreign or classic films for a more mature flair, or even stick to the basics like comedy, horror and romantic comedy. For some great sophisticated girly films, look at my resources below for suggestions.

  3. Step 3

Food is always a key part to any party. You could do takeout from a local cafe, or even throw a dinner party. Whether you do the cooking for them, have it catered, or even let the girls cook their dinner together. Pastries from a local cafe are a great replacement for the standard junk food, cupcakes or mini cakes are also perfect. For drinks you can find great mocktail recipes for a great sophisticated flair, you can even sugar rim the glasses and use cocktail add ins to make it more authentic. Sparkling juice makes a great champagne substitution for the dinner part.

  4. Step 4

Let the girls bring their own favorite music, it will make it easier on you if you don't have to supply the music.

  5. Step 5

Instead of doing the standard games like truth or dare, you can look online for game suggestions, or try some boardgames that aren't too childish.

  6. Step 6

You can buy facial masks, or even find a recipe online and let the girls make their own. I suggest fresh masks if you buy them pre made, they're usually organic so you don't have to worry about teens with sensitive skin. Some of these products can be found under Resources.
