How to Clean Shower Stalls

An area of your home that can easily be forgotten to clean is the shower. In fact, you may wonder, "There is water and soap in there all the time, why would I need to clean it?" But in all actuality, the moisture and soap residue can build up mold and scum quickly making it necessary to clean regularly.   • Sponge with coarse scrubbing side
  • Rubber Gloves
  • White Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Ammonia

Instructions

      Remove all the items out of your shower, such as shampoo bottles and rags.

      Pour a half gallon of hot water into the bowl. Add a 1/2 cup of vinegar, a 1/4 cup baking soda, and a 1/2 cup of ammonia. Stir the mix well.

      Dip the sponge in the mix occasionally while scrubbing the interior of your shower stall. Clean the floor or tub, and the walls. Use the scrubbing side of your sponge when necessary.

      Clean the curtain or shower door with just white vinegar. Wipe any mildew or water stains away with a clean sponge. Also with the white vinegar, clean the faucets, handles, and shower head.

      Unscrew the shower drain cover. Grab any hair and soaps clumps out of the drain. Scrub around the drain and pour the vinegar, baking soda, and ammonia mix down the drain once done scrubbing it.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you are not using the shower keep the curtain closed as to not build up mildew on the curtain.

  • Wear rubber gloves.
