There are so many ways to wear your baby: in a sling, in a back carrier, in a padded front carrier or in a wrap. Many parents are wary of trying the wrap because they think it is hard to tie correctly. Once they try, however, they love their wraps!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Baby wrap
  • Infant or toddler
  1. Step 1

Fold the wrap in half to find its center.

  2. Step 2

Put the center of the wrap over your stomach to form a pouch. The side with the design should be facing inward.

  3. Step 3

Pull each end of the wrap behind your back and toss it over the opposite shoulder towards your front. Make sure that the material is not twisted and the front pouch is snug.

  4. Step 4

Slide your baby's feet into the pouch. Your baby should be facing you. Let your baby's feet slide out of the bottom of the pouch. Your baby should be "sitting" on the bottom of the pouch, legs dangling. Make sure that your baby is comfortable before continuing.

  5. Step 5

Pull the sides of the wrap around your baby's back and cross them between your baby's legs.

  6. Step 6

Bring the two sides around to your back. Tie them in a knot or a secure bow.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a different style, pull the sides of the wrap back around to your front before tying.
  • The first time you try to wear your baby in a wrap, practice over a bed or another soft surface. You may wish to ask someone to spot you.
