Often times if you live in a rural area you find yourself in need of large quantities of wood chips or mulch. Follow these steps to receive free mulch. This only works if you are in need of a large amount. It is very simple and free.

1. Wait until the utility companies come to trim back the trees/shrubs in your area. You will need to be on the lookout to notice when they are in your area.

2. Talk to one of the workers and ask if you can have the mulch from the tree clippings in your area.

3. They will often be relieved to have someone take it. It saves them the trip of driving back to their yard to empty their truck. However, they often only allow you to take a whole truckload or nothing. Therefore if you are in need of a lot of mulch you will be doing them a favor and saving money!
