- Carpet
- Cardboard box of adequate size
- Carpet knife (razor knife)
- Packing tape

Select a box that will be provide a large enough face to use as a target.

Cut carpet remnants using the carpet knife to fit inside the box snugly. Cut enough of them to fill the box completely.

Fill the box with the cut pieces of carpet in layers. This will provide the backing for stopping the arrow.

Seal the box with tape and the project is complete.

Tips & Warnings
Boxes can be picked up for free at most retail stores. Carpet remnants can be acquired for free from flooring retailers. Just ask them if they have any or can hold some for you. Most will be happy to oblige.
Compound bows are dangerous weapons. Be sure that your line of sight is clear of living creatures before shooting.
