Make an Angel Pin From Wired Ribbon

Wired ribbon comes in all sizes, colors and textures. It can be twisted and turned to create angel pins. The following instructions show how to make an angel pin out of a single strand of ribbon. But, it is possible to use two different ribbons, one for the body and another to create the wings. When the angel is complete, a safety pin can be affixed to the backside of the angel, with a hot glue gun.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wired ribbon
  • Round styrofoam or wood
  • Paint or markers
  • Gold trim or wire
  1. Step 1

Begin with a length of wired ribbon, about eight times larger than you want for the height of the angel.

  2. Step 2

Fold the piece in half, and straighten the ribbon.

  3. Step 3

Twist the end for the angel's body. For a 2-inch ribbon, this will be a 3-inch section. Size varies, according to the width of the ribbon.

  4. Step 4

Take the two ends and twist into a bow, close to the top of the angel's body. Each side of the bow should be equal in size to the opposite side.

  5. Step 5

Twist the bow behind the top of the body, so the knots creating it are hidden. After it is twisted and secure, cut off any loose ends.

  6. Step 6

Glue a head onto the angel. The head should be proportioned to the body. This can be a wooden or Styrofoam ball. Add features to the face with paint or markers. Top the head with a halo, made from gold wire or gold trim.
