Remove the set screws. Look on the side of the knob to see the set screw, which needs to be loosened to remove the old knobs.

Wiggle the knob. This will help you get the knob off, but be careful not to use to much force because you don't want to damage the plumbing pipe behind it.

Take off the back plate. After removing the knobs, there will be two screws on each side holding on the back plate. Once the screws are out, remove the plate. At this point, you have completed the process of removing the water faucet knobs. You can now work on the plumbing or replace the water faucet knobs.

Tips & Warnings
You can get knobs that are more updated or the same ones to replace ones you are removing. When you replace just the knobs, it cuts down on the work because you don't have to deal with the plumbing pipe.
