The I-Cinema is a surround sound home theater system. Surround sound systems have several channels. For example, a 5.1 system will have a front left, front right, center, rear left, rear right and subwoofer. Installing the system is quite simple due because all the components come with the system. The whole installation process should take less than an hour.

Step 1

Select a location for each speaker in the system. The I-Cinema company makes 5.1 systems. Place the two rear speakers to the left and right rear of the room. Place the two front speakers to the left and right of the TV. Place the center speaker above or below the TV. Place the subwoofer anywhere. Typically, place the subwoofer near the front.

Step 2

Run the wires from each of the speakers to the receiver. The receiver is the unit that powers all the speakers and connects with all the devices. Put the receiver near the TV, DVD player and cable/satellite box.

Step 3

Plug the speaker wires into their respective terminals. Each wire will have a positive and a negative. These will be labeled. Plug the wires into the receiver. For example, the front right speaker will plug into the front right terminal. Do this for each speaker.

Step 4

Plug the inputs into the receiver. For example, plug the DVD player into the I-Cinema receiver's "DVD" input port. Do this for each device you will connect. The devices will connect via HDMI cable.

Step 5

Plug an HDMI cable into the receiver's "HDMI Video Out" port. Plug the other end of the cable into the TV's "HDMI Video In" port.
