Flowers

Growing flowers, vegetables or any other plant is something you can do inside with the proper lighting and watering schedule. However, to make the system stealthy requires it to fit its surroundings. Placing a growing system within a filing cabinet or a metal desk that has a set of drawers can make a quick stealth growing area. The furniture being used must be made of heat resistant plastic or metal because the lights can cause a great deal of heat and could cause a wooden desk to catch on fire.

    1. How to Build a Stealth Grow Box

      • 1

Remove any drawers that came with the filing cabinet and remove the face of the drawer from the body with either a screw driver or ratchet set depending on how it's built. Do this with all drawers.

      • 2

Attach the miniature grow light to the top of the filing cabinet with the included attachments.

      • 3

Place the top drawer faceplate back in place with the heat resistant tape. Ensure the tape is heat resistant or clamp the faceplate on from the inside to keep the appearance of a regular filling cabinet.

      • 4

Insert the plants or seeds into the pots and place potting soil over them. Moisten the soil with water and put the pots into the catch basin. Close up the bottom opening by hammering nails into the top sides of the faceplate, creating a lifting door.

      • 5

Turn on the miniature grow light and water the plants to their particular requirements.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Keep a fire extinguisher handy in case of fire. Keeping a towel under the pots in the catch basin can help keep the roots of the plants moist and prevent mold. This is a great way to grow competition roses.

    • Placing plants in the stealth grow box that are illegal is not advisable. The cabinet can become warm and may give away its stealthiness.
