Set up a free version of Adobe Photoshop onto your PC computer. Many web sites offer free versions of Photoshop, such as Soft32 (see Resources). To install Photoshop on your computer, go to the main web page of Soft32 and click on the link near the top of the screen that says "Download Photoshop." The Photoshop install will begin immediately.

Open a new file by clicking the word "File" at the top of the page and then select "New." A window will appear that will enable you to select specific dimensions for your image. For the height and width, type in 2000 px for each. For the resolution, type in 300 DPI, or Dots Per Inch. At the bottom of the box, select the background check box that says "Transparency," and then click "OK."

Create text on your image. The image will look like it is covered with gray and white dots. This is because it has a transparent background. You want the background to be transparent so that the image looks right on the black hoodie. To add text, select the capital "T" icon in the tool box, located at the right of the screen --- this is the "Text" tool. Click on your image, holding down the left mouse button, and drag a marquee box where you would like to place text. Click inside the box to start typing: you can edit your text size, font type, and color at the top of the screen.

Save your image file in "PNG" format. Click on "File" at the top of the page, and then select "Save As." A window will come up that will enable you to name your image file and chose what file type to save it as. Name your file any name you want, and then select the file type "PNG."

Upload the design for your black hoodie to the CafePress web site. On the main page of the CafePress web site (see Resources), click on the link to register for a free account. This account allows up to 50 designs. After you have registered, click on "My Shops" on the left of the screen. Inside your shop's page, click on "Manage Sections and Products," located in the middle of the screen. Use the image uploader to upload your design onto the CafePress web site. After you upload your image, select the items you want to place your design image on, such as your black hoodie.
