How to Remove a Stain From a Bathtub Mat
Bathtub mats eventually become dull and dingy looking, and they can sometimes become stained. When this happens, a little elbow grease and some products you typically have on hand in your kitchen will normally eliminate your problem. Try these suggestions one at a time before you spend money on a new bathtub mat, or even on commercial cleaning supplies. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Baking soda
- Table salt
- Sponge or clean cloth
- Fresh lemon cut in half
- Bar Keepers Friend

Pour a mixture of equal parts of baking soda and salt on the stain. Use enough to cover the stain.

Scour thoroughly with a wet cloth or sponge.

Rinse the baking soda/salt mixture off the bathmat. If there is still some of the stain left, try sprinkling some salt on a half a lemon. Scrub the stain with the salted cut side of the lemon on the stain.

Let the lemon juice and salt mixture set on the stain for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Your stain should be gone, but if some of it remains, try a commercial powdered cleanser.

Scrub the powdered cleanser, such as Bar Keepers Friend, into the stain and rinse thoroughly.
