How to Use a Pocket Knife Can Opener
A pocket knife can opener looks better suited for opening bottles or cutting random slits in the top of the can. Though it can be a bit of a quandary if you've never used it, the pocket knife can opener is quite easy to operate and will open your can in seconds.

1
Pull out the can opener from your knife. If you don't know, the can opener (pictured above) looks much like a bottle opener but has a blade on the top.
-
2
Position the can opener so that the bottom tooth is securely on the outer lip of the can. The can opener should be angled as close to the edge as possible while keeping the bottom secured onto the lip.

4
Move the bottle opener over and make another incision that connects with the end of the first one.

5
Continue to make incisions around the top of the can until you've opened it. Essentially, you're mimicking the process of a mechanical or electrical can opener. You can take the top completely off, or pry it open once you've gotten about three-quarters of the way around. Just be careful when handling the top since it is quite sharp.

Check the contents of your can to make sure no metal shards have fallen in; you don't want to eat those.
