Creating beautiful crystal centerpieces for a dining table is easy with a few materials that you can find at your local home, discount or craft store. You may even have items you can use tucked away in your china cabinet. The only rule to follow when you make crystal centerpieces is to be creative. You can use candle sticks, champagne flutes, mirror tiles and colored glass stones to enhance any table décor.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Mirror Tile
  • 1 Crystal Vase
  • Colored Glass Marbles or Beads
  • Glass, Silk or Fresh Flowers with Stems
  • Glass Adhesive
  • 4 Champagne Flutes
  • 4 Tea Lights
  • Two 36 Inch Crystal Strands
  1. Step 1

Fill the crystal vase with colored glass marbles or stones. Insert the stems of your flowers into the stones until you have an arrangement that pleases you. Two or three large flowers work well for this project, but you can also create an arrangement with several smaller flowers. Select a vase that fits the type of flower arrangement that you prefer.

  2. Step 2

Place the mirror tile on the table where you plan to have your centerpiece. Turn the tile so that it is shaped like a diamond. Situate the crystal vase with the flower arrangement in the center of the tile. It may not be necessary to glue the vase to the mirror as it will not tip over as easily as the champagne flutes. If your arrangement is top heavy, definitely add adhesive to the bottom of the vase before placing it on the mirror.

  3. Step 3

Spread glass adhesive on the bottom of the champagne flutes and place one flute on each corner of the tile. Clear Liquid Nail or E6000 works well, but any clear glass adhesive will do. Fill the champagne flutes halfway with colored glass beads or marbles. Place a tea light on top of the beads in each flute. Fill in around the tea light with a few extra marbles, just to camouflage the edge of the tea light.

  4. Step 4

Disassemble the stands of crystal so that you have four 12 inch strands, rather than two 36 inch strands. This is very simple, just unbend the metal clasp that joins each of the crystals together. Hang one strand of crystal from the rim of each of the two glasses that are side by side on the mirror tile. Simply clip the metal hook over the rim of each glass. The champagne flutes will now be joined by a crystal strand around the perimeter of your crystal centerpiece.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make different crystal centerpieces by using crystal goblets, champagne flutes and candle holders of varying shapes and sizes in place of the vase of flowers. Fill each with clear or colored beads, add tea lights and hang crystal strands throughout.
  • Remove the vase and the glass beads before moving the centerpiece. The weight may cause the mirror tile to break.
