How to Create a MS Excel Skin

Creating a MS Excel "skin" is the same as applying "wallpaper" to a spreadsheet. Skin can personalize a file to reflect the essence of your style, individuality and uniqueness, in addition to further enhance the document you are creating. Most any photograph or custom drawing can be used to cover the background of your spreadsheet and add flavor to the sea of cells and numbers. Try formatting your MS Excel document with a skin to bring a little something extra to your spreadsheet.

    • 1

In MS Excel, select "Format" from the Menu Bar.

    • 2

      Select "Sheet."

    • 3

Tips & Warnings

  • To get some ideas, search in your Microsoft Clip Organizer folder. It can usually be accessed by following this path: "My Documents > My Pictures > Microsoft Clip Organizer."

  • Be creative and design your own skin by making custom drawings and saving them as photos in your "My Pictures" folder so that they are readily accessible when you need them.

  • Your skin choice will either enhance or distract from what you are trying to convey in your MS Excel document; therefore, take time to access the skin addition to make sure that it compliments your file by adding meaningful value to the document.
