Every working woman needs many great hairstyles to get them through the work calendar. I know that I am constantly looking for updated hairstyles that are popular in the work place for this season or that occasion. One of my favorite classic hairstyles has always been the French Twist. The following set of instructions is for a hairstyle that is like the French Twist though there are two twists instead of one. This hairstyle will give you that great classic look that the traditional French twist will but with an updated and modern feel.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience
  • Rat Tail Comb
  • Paddle Brush
  • Bobby Pins
  • Hair Spray
  • Shine Drops
  1. Step 1

First you will need to separate the hair on the crown of your head. If you have bangs, you will separate them as you normally would and a bit more on the crown to add a height effect later on.

  2. Step 2

Next, part your remaining hair down the center of your head all the way to the nape of the neck. Basically, part all of the hair not included in the crown separation. Line each side of the part from your natural cowlick to the nape with bobby pins to create a base for your twists.

  3. Step 3

Now, twist the hair on the right side of your head creating a roll. Secure the twist of hair to your head with bobby pins going the entire length of the twist for maximum hold.

  4. Step 4

Next, you will need to tease the hair you separated from the crown of your head for a bit of height. Smooth it back, using a paddle brush if needed, and tuck the ends into the right twist. Secure with a bobby pin or two if needed. Spay with a bit of setting spray.

  5. Step 5

Now, you will need to create the next twist. Repeat the steps that you took to create the right twist.

  6. Step 6

Then, workings upwards, blend the twists together and pin as needed to create a tight looking seem between the two twists.

  7. Step 7

Last, add a drop of shine serum to your twists and spray with ultimate hold hair spray or setting spray.

Tips & Warnings
  • Although this hairstyle can be a bit of a challenge to create, the finished product is well worth the effort. You will look polished and sophisticated while wearing it. Not only will this great hairstyle suit you well in the office but it is formal enough to be paired with a great evening gown. Good luck and Happy styling!
