Get to know the classic shape of the Wayfarer. A true Wayfarer has a trapezoidal shape, but the company has done through a number of design makeovers. Some designs have harsher angles while others designs have softer angles, but all in all the design change has been minimal.

      RB2140

Know which shape of sunglasses look best on your face shape. A triangular face does best with a skinny rim and nose bridge. A square face looks best when the frames are slight curved which helps to minimize the jaw line. Oblong faces want frames that cover the center of the face. Round faces work best with frames that are straight and angular. An oval face can pretty much work any frame but please do be careful of proportion.

Now compare the different types of Wayfarers to the shape of your face. This is why being in a store will be handy, but below you will find my suggestions for each face type.

Triangular faces will look best in the classic Wayfarer design.
Triangular shapes can definitely rock the smaller framed Wayfarer's such as the RB2140.

Oblong faces should try the square Wayfarer as the frames are slightly bigger and can will be centered on your face. Try the RB2151 design.

Round faces might want to try the Wayfarer II design model RB2113.

And a square face is going to have a more difficult time finding a style shape to complement the face, but never fear please do try the New Wayfarer design number RB2132 as this design is more round at the top of the frame instead of straight across.

As always trust your instincts and remember that confidence in a design goes a long way to making you look your best. Style rules should always be looked at as guidelines and not absolutes. So find a style that makes you feel fabulous and work it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Many designs also come in multiple colors, so give those a try also to give the glasses a more modern twist.

  • There are no warnings. Go forth and have fun.
