Step 1
Change your makeup. Oil-based makeup is evil! Also avoid makeup with lanolin, isopropyl myristate, sodium lauryl sulfate, D&C Red dyes, and laureth-4.
-
Step 2
Don't wear any makeup you don't have to - the less you use the better your skin will be.
-
Step 3
Thoroughly wash off your makeup every night. A couple of washings during the day will also help.
-
Step 4
Check with your ob-gyn about your birth control pill. Some pills are very bad for acne so be sure to ask.
-
Step 5
DON'T DO IT! The urge is great but don't attack your pimples. Leave them alone or you could make it worse. However, it's ok to go after blackheads.
-
Step 6
Avoid the sun. Some folks skin is naturally sensitive to sunlight. If you have to be in the direct sun for any length of time, wear a hat that shades your face. Or, if you can't wear a hat, be sure to wash your face more often.
