There are different variations to making home made natural shampoos. Here are two recipes one for Chamomile and another for Beer Shampoo.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Cup Dried or Handfull of Fresh Chamomile
  • 1 1/4 cups of Boiling water
  • 3 Tablespoons of pure soap flakes or leftover slivers of Ivory Soap
  • 1 Tablespoon of glycerin
  • Optional yellow food coloring (3 drops)
  1. Step 1

Take your handful of fresh chamomile or cup of dried chamomile flowers and put them in the boiling water and let it stand for 30 minutes. After soaking in the water, strain it and set the water aside.

  2. Step 2

while the chamomile is soaking in the water, take the extra soap bars and grate them into small pieces. Place the soap flakes or the grated soap flakes and place them in the strained chamomile water. Let sit until the soap is softened.

  3. Step 3

Add the glycerin into the mixture and beat the mixture.

  4. Step 4

Add in the food coloring if desired then pour into a clean bottle with a airtight lid. Store in a cool area.

  5. Step 5

Another variation is to make beer shampoo. Make your shampoo as directed above and add 3/4 cup of malt beer to it. First boil the beer until it boils down to 1/4 cup. Let it cool and add to a cup of the shampoo above. Store in a clean plastic bottle. Beer contains all kinds of protein from the hops and malt. It coats your hair and adds body to it.
