This guide will show you how you can use your computer as a Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Please remember that downloading things illegally is a crime and is unfair to the designers and coders of the original software. Unless you have a backup of the original game, or originally purchased the game when it was released, downloading roms of games is illegal. Please be safe when downloading.

  2. Step 2

The first thing you will need to find is an emulator that is compatible with your operating system. For PC's, ZSNES is a popular emulator that has very few issues on both XP and Vista. For Mac users, ZSNES may work, but it could have issues. Try checking emulator websites for an emulator specifically written for Macs.

  3. Step 3

Once you have the emulator downloaded to your computer, you can search online for Roms of your favorite games. Save these roms to your computer's hard drive. I suggest creating a folder specifically for roms that you download, just to keep everything organized.

  4. Step 4

Open the emulator that you downloaded and click 'file' and then 'load rom' or something similar. Double click the rom files you downloaded and the game should start. For added fun, consider buying a gamepad for your computer to play these games. Gamepads are USB controllers that will really turn your computer into a SNES.
