Make Aloe Vera Shower Gel

Aloe gel, from the leaf of the aloe vera herb, is nature’s own moisturizing balm. Aloe vera can be used to formulate a healing, moisturizing shower gel that revitalizes your skin, leaving it feel soft and pampered. Read on to learn how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Measuring cup
  • Small saucepan
  • 11/2 cups distilled water
  • Ceramic bowl
  • 1 cup shampoo concentrate
  • 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
  • Lavender, calendula or chamomile essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Food coloring
  1. Step 1

Warm up 11/2 cups of distilled water in your pan until it is not much warmer than room temperature. Distilled water is preferable to tap water, which tends to leave your gel cloudy.

  2. Step 2

Pour the shampoo concentrate into a bowl and add the warmed water. Stir to mix the two thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

Add the aloe vera gel and salt. Add food coloring and a few drops of essential oils. Mix the ingredients thoroughly, forming a thick gel mixture.

  4. Step 4

You can adjust the amount of food coloring and essential oil till you get the color and scent that you want.
