Teach Your Kids to Tithe
Teach Your Kids to Tithe

Teaching your kids to tithe their allowance at an early age prepares them to be commited tithers when they are adults.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • allowance
  1. Step 1

First you must teach your child that tithing is good stewardship and God requires that we manage the money he gives us properly.

  2. Step 2

Second, when your child receives his or her allowance. Teach them that 10% first goes to God. Make sure that you give them their money and have them set it aside. If they need help counting their money go ahead and help them. Once they are able to figure out the 10% they will start doing it on their own. Maybe you can have a small box or envelope so that they can put it in until Church service.

  3. Step 3

If you would like for them to learn to save too, you can have them put their tithe first, their savings second and whatever is left is their spending money to buy whatever they wish. Once you teach your child this, he will learn that his tithe will always be given first and it will carry on until he/she is an adult.

  4. Step 4

Teaching your children how to tithe will give them a head start to receiving the many blessings that Jesus has for them.
