Embroider a Victorian Fringe Stitch for Quilting

While quilting or embroidering there are many stitches you can use. Here is how to embroider a Victorian Fringe Stitch.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sewing needle
  • Embroider Thread
  • Material
  1. Step 1

The first step is to bring thread a needle with double thread. Bring the needle through the back and form a loop.

  2. Step 2

Holding the loop in place make a horizontal stitch above it to make a cross stitch.

  3. Step 3

Next add you next second half of the cross stitch as shown in the picture.

  4. Step 4

Then you have you stitch that you want it will look like this.

  5. Step 5

Cut the loop in half for the fringe as picture shows. I find it easier to make the fringe longer at first then to make it too short. One the fringe is cut then trim it to achieve the desired length of your fringe. As shown.

  6. Step 6

You can make this in a line bordering a quilt. Just line up the cross stitches and wait to cut the fringe until you are done to make sure the fringe are all the same length.

Tips & Warnings
