How to Detect Prostate Cancer Symptoms

Prostate cancer is a disease that knows no boundaries. All males must be aware of possible prostate cancer symptoms. This means learning the body and never ignoring even the smallest prostate cancer warning signs. Getting checked out by a doctor and finding prostate cancer could be the difference betweeen life and death.

  1. Step 1

    Understanding any symptoms means knowing the body. Prostate cancer symptoms are no different. Be aware of any subtle changes in the body and take notice. Start by visiting the American Cancer Society for more information.

  2. Step 2

    Take notice of frequent urination. Although a sign of many different things, frequent urination is one of many prostate cancer warning signs. Also, difficulty starting or holding back urination can be a symptom.

  3. Step 3

    Difficulty in having an erection is another symptom. This is a big problem for many guys as they are often embarrassed to discuss this problem with a doctor. Stop the man thing and tell the doctor. It beats the anguish of battling a progressive cancer.

  4. Step 4

    Watch for blood in semen or urine. This is a serious sign and should be addressed promptly. Do not waste time in hoping it will go away and get an appointment ASAP.

  5. Step 5

    Be aware of constant pain in the hips, lower back or upper thigh.
